Giant clamp from Lamont for RS Button Joinery Works

RS Button Joinery Works is a local joinery company, which will produce, as owner Robert Button says, “anything in wood”. Recently, Robert purchased a refurbished giant clamp from Lamont to improve the gluing up process in his workshop. Based outside Ely, RS Button Joinery Works was established in the mid 1970s and has worked for the Cathedral, for Universities, for householders and for local builders. With four people in the business, Robert finds that every job he works on is slightly different. One minute the team may be
producing MDF units and cupboards, the next working on windows: a job installing stairs with built-in cupboards beneath, working with MDF, may be followed by the fitting of an oak front door. As part of an ongoing process of upgrading his machinery and equipment, Robert was looking to move away from hand cramps to a matrix clamp to improve the gluing up process. He selected a refurbished giant clamp from Lamont on the basis that the cost was similar to that of a new clamp of standard size, and because Alan Lamont’s flexible finance terms were very helpful to him. Already in two months, Robert has noticed the benefits of the clamp in squaring things up, and that productivity in the workshop
has improved. In that time, he has used the giant clamp for doors, ranging in size from small cabinets to wardrobes, for window frames and for sashes, as well as other projects.
He says, “The machine is very flexible. It will work with 99% of what we do, which is what we bought it for.” Given the wide range of pro -jects Robert works on and materials
he works with, flexibility in his machinery is essential! Robert says he is pleased with
what he purchased, and that he would recommend it to others.
